Fire Stick Remote Replacement: Compatibility & Pairing in Ireland

Replacing a lost or broken Fire Stick remote? Check the exact Fire TV device and generation before ordering. A familiar button layout does not mean every replacement will work. This guide explains what to check and how to approach pairing.

1. Identify the device you need to control

Find the device model in its on-screen information or on its label. Record whether it is a Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube or a television with Fire TV built in, and note the generation. If you can no longer use the menus, send us the model printed on the device and a photo of your old remote. You do not need to send a serial number or account details.

2. Match the replacement listing

MMTrade's L5B83G replacement voice remote lists Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick 2nd and 3rd generation, listed 4K and 4K Max devices, Fire TV Cube and Fire TV 3rd generation. Its exclusions include Fire TV 1st and 2nd generation, Fire TV Stick 1st generation and Fire TV Edition televisions.

Check the exact generation against the current product information, especially for a newer device. If the model is not clearly listed, ask us to confirm before ordering. The L5B83G sold by MMTrade is a compatible replacement, not an original Amazon-manufactured remote.

• Compare the reference and button layout with the product photos.
• Check whether voice control and any TV power or volume functions are supported for your setup.
• Check the battery requirement; our L5B83G listing requires two AAA batteries, supplied separately.
• Allow time to pair a Bluetooth replacement before expecting it to work.

3. Pair the replacement remote

Follow the instructions supplied with the replacement. Amazon's general guidance describes two routes: add a remote through the Fire TV controller settings when an existing controller works, or restart the Fire TV device and follow its remote-detection prompts when the old remote is unavailable. Holding Home for about 10 seconds can make a supported remote discoverable.

4. If pairing does not work

Check compatibility first, then the batteries and the included setup guide. A different replacement may be needed if your device is outside the listed models. Avoid assuming a remote is faulty solely because it has not yet paired.
